Group 5: Alternative Media

Mainstream Media is defined as media that is spread through large distribution channel(radio t.v, print) and that is representative of what the majority media consumers are exposed to.This term is also used to describe the media that is generally reflective of our society ( ideals, influences, and thoughts). Large conglomerates are the producers and those who choose what  media becomes mainstream. Among this over abundant mass media there is also Alternative media. Alternative media allows for the challenging of existing ideals, as well as representing groups whom would other wise go unrepresented.
In our presentation we will discuss different and compare different forms of media ( mainstream vs. alternative) as well as provide alternatives to the prevalent media that we are exposed to everyday.
