Who am I? I am that microorganism under a microscope. I am that lost unicorn in this unpredictable world, which we call the “real world.” I am the new hatched Yoshi that Mario bumped on the way to eat that mushroom...

If I did, then I'm the type of media maker who likes to get people's attention. I love to say the weirdest thing. I always want to post the most brilliant, fascinating, or strangest thing online. Whatever I find on either Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube, Pinterest, Tumblr, Linked, Vine, and any other media source I will make sure I "share" it to anyone. Its great to get people involved or to even inform them with whats happening around us. The fact that we can even generate memes to express how we feel and show who we are, makes me flabbergasted. The fact that we can take a picture or video of anything and post it online in the matter of seconds for your friends to see is even beyond amazing to me still.

I use all of these social media outlets to my advantage. However the fact that we are all surrounded by mass media, shows we can be buried in it, too. For example, Instagram I can capture every moment of where I go, what I see, and what I find. Facebook I can upload and update everything in my life. However this is the one thing I love and hate about these media outlets: everything is documented from the beginning of using these application. Not only is your friends and family opened to see your pictures and information, but it is open to everyone who is able to see it. Yes, you can control it's privacy, but what happens if you're caught in the middle of deciding rather to just expose yourself so easily to the world or hide it all away. We can use it to our advantage to gain some type of attention. But the minute we do that, we have to be careful and aware of what we post.

To be honest, thats how much we are committed and involved to mass media. Its because we have it dictate over every decision we make.

Really? Why media..? Why? (LOL)

However, when everything becomes serious and critical, I want to use these outlets to document and expose important events. I am a student at Hunter College majoring in Emerging Media. Thats also a reason why I think so much mass media is fitted into my life. I learn plenty from my teachers and colleagues that it makes me want to search the web and look through media for ideas. Thats why I want to become a legit Editor and probably a Filmmaker. I want to be able to expand "my horizons" and film short films, dancers, fashion shows,and/or a improv event. If I am able to, then I know I want to be able to put it online for many to see. By putting it online, it can generate an awareness, a understanding, or a feeling. Thats the best thing media can do, because it can reach to everyone and affect them in some way.
